Taking VIT Chennai to the TOP

  • The main goal of VIT is to obtain and maintain a very good rank in the QS University ranking. For that we should concentrate on the following:

  • NIRF 

  • NAAC and 

  • NBA.

  • Current NAAC score is 3.42 and we are trying to achieve 3.75

  • Govt. of India has recognized VIT, as an Institution of Eminence

  • Current QS world University Ranking is 801-1000

    • First target is to obtain one of the top 500 universities in the world

    • Second target is to come within  200 top universities in the world

  • Advised to publish more papers in Scopus index and in high impact factor journals.

  • Ph.d scholar has to complete their Ph.D degree in minimum duration without compromising the Quality of the research.

  • Increasing the number of paper publications per faculty 

  • Junk journals and plagiarism should be avoided which increases the reputation of the VIT.

  • Faculty and research quality can be measured through citation. So we should concentrate on publishing the research paper in high impact factor journals.

  • addressed  some suggestion regarding such as

  • Self citation is not considered in the quality evaluation.

  • Collaboration with foreign faculty to do the research and publications as International faculty citation is really important for the reputation

  •  advised to participate in more international conferences and also to invite more international participants in VIT conferences.

  •  addressed the reputation of VIT through increasing visibility in the research world and advised to join the network like Research gate and Linked in etc.

  •  motivated to get  more sponsored projects with higher grants

  • encouraged to trans-disciplinary or interdisciplinary areas of research in Biology, Physical sciences and Engineering.

  • addressed to Increase the number of B.Tech students in research and publications.

  • advised to get more awards from the central government and International agencies.

  • directed to maintain all documents and proofs meticulously which have a major role during NAAC, MBA, QS and NIRF ranking.

  • explored the importance of the industrial collaboration and solving industry’s problems (focus on MNC first).

  • explained the importance of the patents and commercialized the ideas which are benefited by both individual and VIT.

  • advised to conduct a more Value Added program (VAP) for students and industry.

  • When it comes to India, people will think of IIT, we should make them think of VIT.

  • We should resolve the issues then and there quickly and keep the people happy. 

  • Need to be more competitive and need to improve the perception

  • VIT is encouraging to attend good conferences so that we can increase the reputation of our institution

  • Advised to the faculty, should involve in each and every student success and maintains a well student feedback on teaching.

  • explained the role of Proctor such as

  • advised to don’t waste time on social media 

  • explained the proper arrangement of meeting from Inauguration to Valedictory which contains the meeting agenda,  meeting minutes and action plan.

  • Finally sir has shared the thought that We will wish for the top. Work hard and we will succeed and that is there in our VIT logo itself :)
